Description

Elevate your breakfast with these fluffy banana bread cinnamon rolls swirled with brown sugar and cinnamon, topped with luscious cream cheese frosting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Add melted butter, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract, blending the ingredients.
  3. Gradually incorporate salt and flour, stirring until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  8. Evenly sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar mixture over the dough.
  9. Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly and slice into 1 to 1.5-inch rolls.
  10. Place the rolls into a greased baking pan, cover, and let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  12. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth for the frosting.
  13. Drizzle the frosting over the warm rolls before serving.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Assemble rolls the night before and refrigerate. Allow them to come to room temperature and rise before baking.
