Description

Delicious beer battered fish tacos with crispy fish, fresh toppings, and vibrant salsa, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound white fish fillets (cod or tilapia)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beer (light lager or pale ale)
  • Corn tortillas
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Shredded cabbage
  • Salsa
  • Lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Batter: In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in the beer until you have a smooth batter.
  2. Heat the Oil: Pour vegetable oil into your deep skillet and heat to around 350°F (175°C).
  3. Dredge the Fish: Dip each fish fillet into your prepared batter, allowing excess to drip off.
  4. Fry to Perfection: Carefully place the battered fish in the hot oil and fry for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. Drain: Remove the fish with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  6. Warm the Tortillas: In a skillet over medium heat, warm your corn tortillas.
  7. Assemble the Tacos: Place fried fish inside warmed tortillas, top with shredded cabbage, salsa, and a spritz of lime juice. Serve immediately.

Notes

Make the batter ahead of time and store it in the fridge. Consider air frying for a healthier option.
