Delight in the warm, spiced flavors of the season with these irresistible Caramel Apple Cider Donuts, topped with a luscious caramel drizzle.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Caramel sauce for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease your donut pan with baking spray.
- Whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a large bowl until well blended.
- Mix the apple cider, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla in a separate bowl until thoroughly combined and smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, taking care to mix gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing; lumps are perfectly acceptable!
- Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full—this allows them room to rise.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes, then gently remove them. Drizzle with warm caramel sauce just before serving.
Notes
For best results, do not overmix the batter and ensure your oven is preheated before baking. You can customize with chopped apples or nuts if desired.
