Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound homemade pizza dough (454 g)
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • ¼ cup pizza sauce of choice
  • 1 cup loosely packed shredded mozzarella cheese (100 g)
  • Pepperoni slices (as needed)
  • Grated parmesan cheese (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 500℉ (260℃).
  2. Prepare the dough by allowing it to rest at room temperature for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Oil the bottom of your 12-inch cast iron skillet with olive oil.
  4. Shape the dough inside the skillet, gently pushing and pulling until it fits.
  5. Sauce the dough, leaving a half-inch border.
  6. Layer about ¾ of the shredded mozzarella over the sauce, then add pepperoni and remaining mozzarella.
  7. Season the pizza with black pepper and grated parmesan over the crust.
  8. Heat the skillet on medium heat for 3-5 minutes.
  9. Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is melted and edges are browned.
  10. Cool for 3-5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, customize your toppings or try different cheeses. Make the dough ahead of time for optimal results.
