Description

A heartwarming cherry pie with a flaky crust and a sweet-tart filling perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 Pie Crust
  • 2 Cups Fresh or Frozen Cherries, Pitted
  • 3/4 Cup Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Almond Extract
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Roll out the pie crust on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine pitted cherries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and almond extract; stir gently until well mixed.
  4. Pour the cherry mixture into your pie crust and dot the top with pieces of butter.
  5. Cover with another pie crust or create a lattice design while sealing the edges.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the crust turns golden brown and the filling bubbles.
  7. Allow the pie to cool before slicing.

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh cherries. Prepare dough in advance for an easier baking experience.
