Description

Deliciously rich cookies that combine classic chocolate chip flavors with a creamy twist from cream cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks
  • 1 cup M&M’s (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk together the flour and baking soda in a small bowl.
  3. Cream the softened butter, sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth in a large bowl.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and egg until well combined.
  5. Mix in the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  6. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips, chocolate chunks, and M&M’s, if using.
  8. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  10. Let them cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill the dough in the refrigerator to deepen flavors or keep cookies chewier. Experiment with mix-ins such as nuts or dried fruit.
