Description

Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (for melting)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, blend melted butter and sugar until smooth. Stir in eggs and vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients, folding gently.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan and layer strawberry slices on top. Drizzle remaining batter over strawberries.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  7. Melt chocolate chips with vegetable oil in a saucepan. Drizzle over cooled brownies.
  8. Slice into squares and serve.

For a gluten-free option, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend. You can also prepare the batter a day ahead and bake fresh for your occasion.
