Description

A delightful blend of churros and toffee with rich chocolate layers, creating a perfect crunchy-sweet dessert experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, divided
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup toffee bits
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat, then stir in brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until smooth. Let cool for 5 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled butter mixture with 1 cup of all-purpose flour, stirring gently until just combined. Spread the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool for 10 minutes.
  5. Melt the remaining 1/2 cup of unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl, then stir in chocolate chips and toffee bits until creamy.
  6. Mix together ground cinnamon and powdered sugar in a small bowl, and sprinkle over the cooled base.
  7. Pour the chocolate-toffee mixture over the cinnamon-sugar base, spreading evenly. Top with additional powdered sugar.
  8. Let it cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set. Lift out of the dish using parchment paper, cut into squares, and serve.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Prepare a day in advance for deeper flavors. Can also use an air fryer with adjusted settings.
