Description

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 cloves of garlic (finely minced)
  • ⅓ cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for finishing)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and onion powder.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté minced garlic for 30–45 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add brown sugar, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar to the skillet, stirring until a smooth sauce forms.
  4. Place the seasoned chicken in the skillet, cooking for 5–6 minutes on each side while spooning sauce over the chicken.
  5. Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  6. Before serving, add unsalted butter to the sauce, swirling it for a glossy finish.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately with the sauce.

Notes

Marinade the chicken for a couple of hours for bolder flavors. Consider using an air fryer for a crispy exterior.
