Description

A vibrant and flavorful green bean dish paired with toasted almonds and a hint of lemon.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Trim the beans by snipping off the ends.
  2. Blanch the beans in boiling salted water for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  3. Ice the beans in cold water immediately after blanching to retain color.
  4. Toast the almonds in a sauté pan with melted butter for about 3-5 minutes until golden.
  5. Combine the green beans and lemon juice with the toasted almonds, adding salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with extra toasted almonds if desired.

Notes

For vegan option, substitute butter with olive oil.
