Description

Delicious and crunchy ground beef tostadas, layered with fresh vegetables and topped with sour cream and salsa for a flavorful experience.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 tostada shells
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • Sour cream and salsa for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Sauté the onion and garlic in the skillet until translucent.
  3. Cook the ground beef, breaking it apart as it browns for about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Season the beef with chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  5. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  6. Assemble the tostadas with the ground beef mixture, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and cheese.
  7. Top with sour cream and salsa.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

Make-ahead tip: Prepare the beef mixture in advance and refrigerate it for up to three days. Reheating is easy and quick.
