- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 tostada shells
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- Sour cream and salsa for serving
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Sauté the onion and garlic in the skillet until translucent.
- Cook the ground beef, breaking it apart as it browns for about 5-7 minutes.
- Season the beef with chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
- Assemble the tostadas with the ground beef mixture, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and cheese.
- Top with sour cream and salsa.
- Serve immediately.
