Description

A comforting side dish with layers of sweet potatoes, cream, and a crispy Parmesan topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium Sweet Potatoes
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme, dried
  • 1 teaspoon Rosemary, dried
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and slice the sweet potatoes thinly, about 1/8-inch thick.
  3. Layer the sweet potato slices in a baking dish, sprinkling garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper between layers.
  4. Pour the heavy cream over the layered sweet potatoes.
  5. Top with grated Parmesan cheese and dot with butter.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the top is golden and the sweet potatoes are tender.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider using half-and-half instead of heavy cream. You can also experiment with different cheeses.
