- 1 cup of strawberries, sliced
- 1 lemon, juiced and zested
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the filling by combining cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl. Blend until smooth.
- Roll out the crescent roll dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and shape it into a circular ring.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a half-inch border.
- Add sliced strawberries on top of the cream cheese filling.
- Fold the dough over the filling to form a ring and pinch the edges to seal.
- Brush the top with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For best results, soften the cream cheese before use and slice strawberries just before adding to maintain freshness. Can be made ahead and assembled just before baking.
