- Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Heat the milk and butter until warm and mix with the dry ingredients. Add the egg and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour.
- Roll Out the Dough: Punch down the dough, roll it into a rectangle, and spread the apple butter evenly.
- Add Sweetness: Sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.
- Shape the Rolls: Roll tightly into a log, cut into 12 sections, and place in a greased baking dish.
- Second Rise: Cover and let rise for about 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake to Perfection: Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Glaze and Serve: Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze and drizzle over warm rolls.
