Description

A vibrant dish featuring succulent chicken breasts enveloped in a sweet and spicy glaze that creates a sensational culinary experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup hot/chili sauce (e.g., Frank’s Red Hot or Sriracha)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, grated
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon oil (olive or vegetable)
  • 1 pound boneless and skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Firecracker Glaze: In a small saucepan, combine the hot sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, grated garlic, and red pepper flakes. Heat over medium until the sugar melts and the mixture is well combined.
  2. Sear the Chicken: Heat oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper. Once the pan is hot, add the chicken and sear for about 3-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  3. Bake to Perfection: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Once seared, pour half of the prepared sauce over the chicken. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, basting with the remaining sauce every 5 minutes.
  4. Serve and Enjoy: Once cooked, remove the skillet from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes. Serve with the remaining sauce drizzled over the top.

Notes

For meal prep, you can make the glaze ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator. Consider serving with steamed rice or roasted vegetables.
