- 1 loaf of brioche or challah
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- Maple syrup, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cut the bread into thick slices and arrange in the baking dish.
- Whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.
- Pour the mixture over the bread slices, ensuring all are soaked.
- Combine chopped pecans with melted butter and sprinkle over the bread.
- Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate for at least 2-4 hours or overnight.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and custard is set.
- Serve warm with maple syrup.
