Description

Deliciously seasoned beef and black bean hand pies enveloped in a flaky crust, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 lb seasoned ground beef
  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup corn (frozen or canned)
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • Cooking spray or oil for baking

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the seasoned ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
  3. Stir together the cooked beef, black beans, corn, cheddar cheese, and cream cheese in a mixing bowl until combined.
  4. Roll out the biscuit dough to about ¼ inch thickness and cut into circles, about 4-5 inches wide.
  5. Place a spoonful of the filling on one half of each circle, fold over, and seal edges with a fork.
  6. Spray the hand pies lightly with cooking spray or brush with oil.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using ground turkey or swapping cheddar cheese for pepper jack.
