Description

Celebrate Independence Day with these soft and chewy chocolate chip cookies that are perfect for summer gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time and then mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl and gradually incorporate into the wet mixture.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Scoop generous portions of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden and the centers are slightly underbaked.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies. These cookies pair wonderfully with milk or ice cream.
