Description

A simple, fun, and mess-free way to create delicious homemade bread with a fluffy, tender texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a large resealable plastic bag, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Seal and shake gently, then let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Combine ingredients: Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the bag. Seal again, removing excess air.
  3. Knead the dough: Knead the bag with your hands for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Rest the dough: Let the dough sit in a warm spot for 30 minutes to rise.
  5. Prepare for baking: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  6. Shape and place: Cut the dough into desired shapes and place in the prepared pan.
  7. Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool and slice: Let cool in pan, then transfer to a rack. Allow cooling before slicing.

Notes

Store bread in a paper bag at room temperature for up to three days; freeze for longer storage. For reheating, place in a 350°F oven for 10–15 minutes.
