Description

A delightful hybrid treat combining the chewy comfort of cookies with the fudgy richness of brownies, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup brownie mix
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, around 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Spread half of the cookie dough into the greased pan.
  8. Prepare the brownie mix according to package instructions and pour it over the cookie dough layer.
  9. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining cookie dough on top of the brownie mix.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Let the brookies cool completely before cutting them into squares.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature butter and avoid overmixing the dough.
