Description

Delicious cookies with a caramelized sugar crust and a sweet, creamy center, perfect for elevating any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar for topping
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional for drizzle)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually blend this dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, flattening the tops gently.
  7. Sprinkle a small amount of granulated sugar on top of each cookie.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Remove from oven and use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar on top until golden.
  10. Optional: Drizzle with heavy cream and allow to cool slightly before enjoying.

Notes

Chill dough in the refrigerator for up to a week before baking. You can also use an air fryer; adjust the temperature to 320°F (160°C).
