- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar for topping
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional for drizzle)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.
- Stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
- Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually blend this dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, flattening the tops gently.
- Sprinkle a small amount of granulated sugar on top of each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Remove from oven and use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar on top until golden.
- Optional: Drizzle with heavy cream and allow to cool slightly before enjoying.
Notes
Chill dough in the refrigerator for up to a week before baking. You can also use an air fryer; adjust the temperature to 320°F (160°C).
