Description

A heartwarming and creamy casserole combining tender orzo, seasoned chicken, and rich melted cheese, perfect for family gatherings or cozy dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups orzo pasta
  • 1 pound cooked chicken, shredded or cubed
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (such as cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bring water to a boil and cook the orzo until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. Combine the cooked orzo, shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, mixed vegetables, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading evenly.
  5. Top generously with shredded cheese.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a seamless dinner, prep the casserole in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Reheat before serving for easy dinner preparation.
