- 1 can cherry pie filling
- 1 package cream cheese (8 oz), softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, eggs, and vanilla together in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- Spread the cherry pie filling evenly across the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cherry layer, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the cream cheese mixture.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute low-fat cream cheese. This dessert can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight.
