Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

- Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl: 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
- Combine wet ingredients in a separate bowl: 1/2 cup melted butter, 1 large egg, 1/2 cup milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in the cherries, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
- Fill each muffin cup about 2/3 full with the batter.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool slightly in the tin before transferring to a wire rack.
