Description

A hearty and comforting Chicken Parmesan Casserole that combines tender chicken, pasta, and marinara sauce, topped with gooey cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (such as penne or rotini)
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with olive oil.
  2. Combine the shredded chicken, marinara sauce, cooked pasta, ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix well.
  3. Pour half of the chicken mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese on top.
  4. Add the remaining chicken mixture on top, then add the rest of the mozzarella and finish with the grated Parmesan cheese.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Assemble the casserole a day in advance and refrigerate. Cooking alternatives: Adapt for the air fryer at 375°F for 20-25 minutes.
