Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken sausage
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 zucchini, diced
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Balsamic glaze for drizzling
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chicken sausage, breaking it apart, and cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced bell pepper and zucchini, cooking until softened, approximately 5 minutes.
  4. Pour in the orzo and chicken broth, bringing it to a gentle simmer.
  5. Cook for about 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally until the orzo is tender and has absorbed most of the liquid.
  6. Fold in the fresh spinach until wilted.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve hot drizzled with balsamic glaze and garnished with fresh basil.
