Description

A delightful twist on a classic, this Cinnamon Roll Focaccia combines the sweet flavors of traditional cinnamon rolls with the airy texture of focaccia, perfect for brunch or a cozy snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk for glaze

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl and let it sit until frothy, about 5-10 minutes.
  2. Mix the flour and salt in a larger bowl, then add the yeast mixture and melted butter.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Coat lightly with oil, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
  7. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, then sprinkle over the dough.
  8. Roll the dough into a log and slice into pieces about 1 inch thick.
  9. Arrange the slices in a greased baking dish and let them rise again for another 20-30 minutes.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Whisk powdered sugar and milk for the glaze and drizzle over the warm focaccia.
