- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk for glaze
Instructions
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl and let it sit until frothy, about 5-10 minutes.
- Mix the flour and salt in a larger bowl, then add the yeast mixture and melted butter.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Coat lightly with oil, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, then sprinkle over the dough.
- Roll the dough into a log and slice into pieces about 1 inch thick.
- Arrange the slices in a greased baking dish and let them rise again for another 20-30 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Whisk powdered sugar and milk for the glaze and drizzle over the warm focaccia.
Notes
