Description

A delicious and comforting Cinnamon Swirl Bread with rich brown sugar and cinnamon swirls, perfect for breakfast or a sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle the yeast over the mixture and let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt in a separate bowl.
  3. Add melted butter and eggs to the yeast mixture, stirring until well combined. Gradually add the flour mixture.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Grease a bowl, place the dough inside, and cover it with a kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour.
  6. Punch down the dough, roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Spread melted butter over the dough. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the buttered dough.
  8. Roll up the dough tightly from one long edge and seal the edges.
  9. Slice the log into 9 even pieces and place in a greased loaf pan.
  10. Let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
  11. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Cool the bread in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For make-ahead, you can prepare the dough in advance and refrigerate after the first rise.
