Description

Indulge in the ultimate chocolate chip cookies that are thick, gooey, and full of rich chocolate flavor, inspired by the famous Levain Bakery.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, packed brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, combining gently until just incorporated.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop large spoonfuls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden at the edges.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For the best results, chill the dough before baking and allow all ingredients to come to room temperature.
