Description

A deliciously sweet and crunchy snack that combines classic Chex cereals and pretzels with an indulgent caramel coating.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 3 cups Corn Chex cereal
  • 2 cups pretzels
  • 1 cup M&M’s
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Combine the Rice Chex, Corn Chex, and pretzels in a large mixing bowl.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine melted butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir until it reaches a gentle boil, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in baking soda.
  5. Pour the caramel mixture over your cereal and pretzel blend, ensuring every piece is well coated.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly onto a lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  8. Once done, toss in M&M’s while the mix is still warm.
  9. Allow the mix to cool completely before serving.

Notes

Crack Chex Mix stays fresh for up to two weeks in an airtight container. Consider making a double batch ahead of time.
