Description

Delicious cranberry orange scones with a flaky texture and a perfect balance of tart and sweet flavors.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add the dried cranberries and orange zest, stirring evenly.
  5. Combine the heavy cream, egg, and vanilla in a separate bowl and whisk until creamy.
  6. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  7. Form the dough into a round shape about 1 inch thick and cut into wedges.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly before serving.
