- 1 medium avocado
- 1 small jalapeño
- 1/4 cup cilantro
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1 green onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients: Halve the avocado, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into your blender. Chop the jalapeño, cilantro, green onion, and garlic.
- Blend to perfection: Add the chopped ingredients into the blender with the buttermilk, mayonnaise (or yogurt), lime juice, cumin, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Puree until smooth: Blend at high speed until you achieve a creamy consistency.
- Taste and adjust: Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning as needed.
- Chill and serve: Transfer the dressing to a container and store it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
Freshness is key; use ripe avocados and fresh herbs for the best flavor. The dressing keeps well for 3-4 days in the fridge.
