Description

A luscious, creamy dressing made with avocado, buttermilk, and fresh herbs, perfect for salads, tacos, and grilled meats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium avocado
  • 1 small jalapeño
  • 1/4 cup cilantro
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 green onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Halve the avocado, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into your blender. Chop the jalapeño, cilantro, green onion, and garlic.
  2. Blend to perfection: Add the chopped ingredients into the blender with the buttermilk, mayonnaise (or yogurt), lime juice, cumin, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  3. Puree until smooth: Blend at high speed until you achieve a creamy consistency.
  4. Taste and adjust: Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  5. Chill and serve: Transfer the dressing to a container and store it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Freshness is key; use ripe avocados and fresh herbs for the best flavor. The dressing keeps well for 3-4 days in the fridge.
