Delicious crispy ham and cheese stacks encased in flaky puff pastry, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients

- 2 sheets puff pastry (thawed)
- 8 slices ham (Black Forest, prosciutto, or honey-glazed)
- 8 slices cheese (cheddar, Swiss, Gruyère, or mozzarella)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- 2 eggs (beaten, for egg wash)
- Flour (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Lightly dust your surface with flour and roll out the puff pastry to about 10-12 inches square.
- Lay your first sheet of pastry on the baking sheet and layer the ham and cheese evenly over it. Optionally, spread Dijon mustard.
- Place the second pastry sheet on top, pressing the edges to seal. Crimp the edges with a fork.
- Brush the surface generously with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
- Cool for 5 minutes, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
Make-ahead: Prepare the stacks a few hours in advance and bake before serving. For air frying, cook at 375°F for about 10-15 minutes.
