Description

Deliciously crispy chicken thighs soaked in buttermilk, coated with a spicy flour mix, and fried to perfection with fresh jalapeños.


Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 23 jalapeños, sliced
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Coating: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk together until well mixed.
  2. Soak the Chicken: Place the chicken thighs in another bowl and pour the buttermilk over them. Let them soak in this luscious bath for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Coat the Chicken: Remove each piece from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge them in the flour mixture, ensuring every inch is coated.
  4. Heat the Oil: In your frying pan, heat enough oil to cover the bottom over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry the Chicken: Gently add the chicken thighs to the pan. Let them fry for about 6-8 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Add the Jalapeños: During the last few minutes, add the sliced jalapeños to the pan.
  7. Serve Hot: Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a plate lined with paper towels. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, marinate the chicken a day prior and avoid overcrowding the frying pan.
