Description
Deliciously crispy chicken thighs soaked in buttermilk, coated with a spicy flour mix, and fried to perfection with fresh jalapeños.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 chicken thighs
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2–3 jalapeños, sliced
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Prepare the Coating: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk together until well mixed.
- Soak the Chicken: Place the chicken thighs in another bowl and pour the buttermilk over them. Let them soak in this luscious bath for at least 30 minutes.
- Coat the Chicken: Remove each piece from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge them in the flour mixture, ensuring every inch is coated.
- Heat the Oil: In your frying pan, heat enough oil to cover the bottom over medium-high heat.
- Fry the Chicken: Gently add the chicken thighs to the pan. Let them fry for about 6-8 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Add the Jalapeños: During the last few minutes, add the sliced jalapeños to the pan.
- Serve Hot: Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a plate lined with paper towels. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
For best results, marinate the chicken a day prior and avoid overcrowding the frying pan.
