Description

Crispy Spicy Jalapeño Chicken transforms ordinary chicken thighs into a flavorful adventure with a crunchy coating and a spicy kick.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 jalapeños, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oil: In a heavy-bottomed frying pan, add about a half-inch of oil and preheat over medium heat.
  2. Prepare the breadcrumb mixture: In a medium bowl, combine breadcrumbs, finely chopped jalapeños, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat the chicken: Dip each chicken thigh in the beaten eggs, then transfer to the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
  4. Fry the chicken: Gently place the coated thighs in the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 6-7 minutes on each side.
  5. Drain and serve: Remove the chicken from the oil and allow it to rest on paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve hot.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider using an air fryer. You can coat the chicken ahead of time and refrigerate for up to a day before frying.
