Description

Deliciously soft and colorful cookies perfect for celebrating Easter.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until combined.
  6. If desired, divide the dough into portions and mix in food coloring.
  7. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into Easter shapes using cookie cutters.
  8. Place cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Sprinkle with sprinkles if using.
  10. Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden.
  11. Let cool before serving.

Notes

You can make the dough a day in advance and refrigerate it. Don’t overmix the dough to keep the cookies tender.
