Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the oats and any optional add-ins like raisins or chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden brown.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
You can prepare the dough up to 3 days in advance and refrigerate. Chilling the dough helps prevent spreading.
