Description

Delicious breakfast rolls filled with poached eggs, Canadian bacon, and creamy hollandaise sauce, wrapped in fluffy dough.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 large eggs (for poaching)
  • 8 slices Canadian bacon or ham
  • 1/2 cup hollandaise sauce
  • Chopped chives (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  2. Warm milk, water, and butter until just warm; incorporate 1 egg.
  3. Pour warm liquid into dry ingredients and knead until smooth dough forms.
  4. Cover the bowl and let dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 60 minutes.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into 4×4 inch squares.
  6. Place a slice of Canadian bacon, poached egg, and hollandaise on each square; fold the dough over the filling.
  7. Arrange the rolls seam side down on a baking sheet and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm, garnished with chopped chives.

Notes

Ensure your yeast is fresh and active. You can prepare the dough a day in advance.
