- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 large egg
- 4 large eggs (for poaching)
- 8 slices Canadian bacon or ham
- 1/2 cup hollandaise sauce
- Chopped chives (for garnish)
Instructions
- Combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a mixing bowl.
- Warm milk, water, and butter until just warm; incorporate 1 egg.
- Pour warm liquid into dry ingredients and knead until smooth dough forms.
- Cover the bowl and let dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 60 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into 4×4 inch squares.
- Place a slice of Canadian bacon, poached egg, and hollandaise on each square; fold the dough over the filling.
- Arrange the rolls seam side down on a baking sheet and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm, garnished with chopped chives.
Notes
Ensure your yeast is fresh and active. You can prepare the dough a day in advance.
