Description

A delightful fresh strawberry tart featuring a buttery pastry shell filled with juicy strawberries and topped with cream.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup pastry cream or whipped cream (optional)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and transfer it to a tart pan.
  3. Prick the bottom of the pastry with a fork to prevent bubbling.
  4. Bake the tart shell for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and let it cool on a wire rack.
  5. Toss sliced strawberries with sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Spread the pastry cream or whipped cream on the cooled crust (if using).
  7. Assemble the macerated strawberries on top of the cream.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar just before serving.

Notes

Feel free to customize with other fruits or adjust sweetness based on preference. For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free puff pastry.
