- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup pastry cream or whipped cream (optional)
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and transfer it to a tart pan.
- Prick the bottom of the pastry with a fork to prevent bubbling.
- Bake the tart shell for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and let it cool on a wire rack.
- Toss sliced strawberries with sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
- Spread the pastry cream or whipped cream on the cooled crust (if using).
- Assemble the macerated strawberries on top of the cream.
- Dust with powdered sugar just before serving.
Notes
