- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 cup sourdough discard
- 1/4 cup fresh herbs (such as chives, parsley, or thyme), chopped
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl; whisk together until well blended.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the sourdough discard and milk until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the chopped herbs gently, allowing their flavor to meld.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for about 30 seconds.
- Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick slab, then cut rounds using a biscuit cutter or glass.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
For extra flavor, brush the tops with melted butter before baking. These biscuits can be made ahead and stored in the fridge.
