Description

A delightful blend of tender chicken chunks enveloped in a glossy sweet and tangy sauce, complemented by garlic and ginger.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless chicken thighs, cut into chunks
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken by combining with soy sauce and cornstarch for 20 minutes.
  2. Fry the chicken in hot vegetable oil until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  4. Sauté minced garlic and ginger in the same skillet until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  5. Add chicken broth, sugar, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil to the skillet; stir well.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce.
  7. Cook for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens.
  8. Serve the chicken over rice, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Marinate the chicken overnight for richer flavors. Always ensure the oil is hot before frying to achieve a crispy texture.
