Description

Indulge in these rich German Chocolate Brownies that blend fudgy texture with a creamy coconut pecan frosting.


Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease your 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter and mix it with the granulated sugar until it creates a smooth, creamy texture.
  3. Crack in the eggs one by one, beating well after each addition to incorporate air.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, stirring gently until combined.
  7. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Meanwhile, prepare the frosting by combining sweetened condensed milk, shredded coconut, and chopped pecans in a saucepan over medium heat.
  10. Cook until thickened, about 10 minutes.
  11. Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies.
  12. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with coconut oil. Add optional peanut butter or caramel swirls for extra flavor.
