Description

A rich and creamy frosting featuring a delightful blend of coconut and pecans, perfect for German chocolate cake or other desserts.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Combine the sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and egg yolks in a medium saucepan.
  2. Cook the mixture over medium heat while continuously stirring.
  3. Keep stirring until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble gently.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract, shredded coconut, and chopped pecans.
  5. Allow to cool for about 30 minutes before spreading over the cake.

Notes

Store in the refrigerator for up to three days. You can also prepare this frosting a day in advance for intensified flavor.
