- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup German chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 cup coconut flakes
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream the butter and sugars in a large bowl using an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
- Whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl until well combined.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, stirring until just mixed.
- Fold in the chopped German chocolate, pecans, and coconut flakes.
- Scoop tablespoonfuls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving 2 inches between each dollop.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are firm and centers are slightly underbaked.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack. Frost with chocolate frosting if desired.

Notes
Cookies can be made ahead of time; freeze dough balls and bake them later. Try using an air fryer for a slightly different texture.
