- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 egg (optional, for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl until combined.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the shredded cheese and diced ham until evenly distributed.
- Gradually add the milk, stirring gently until a dough forms. Avoid overmixing.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface, knead lightly, then roll to about 1-inch thickness.
- Cut into scone shapes and transfer to the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with egg wash if desired.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
