Description

Deliciously flaky scones filled with savory ham and melted cheese, perfect for brunch or as a hearty snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg (optional, for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl until combined.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheese and diced ham until evenly distributed.
  5. Gradually add the milk, stirring gently until a dough forms. Avoid overmixing.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, knead lightly, then roll to about 1-inch thickness.
  7. Cut into scone shapes and transfer to the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with egg wash if desired.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze up to 3 months.
