Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Cream the softened butter and sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually bring in the dry mixture alternately with the milk, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the sprinkles gently.
- Divide the batter between the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Beat the softened butter for frosting until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and mix until smooth.
- Frost one layer generously, add the second layer, and finish with a layer of frosting topped with more sprinkles.
- Slice and serve!

Make ahead by baking the layers a day in advance. This cake can also be stored in the fridge for up to a week or frozen for three months.
