Description
A comforting casserole with layers of seasoned ground beef, creamy mushroom sauce, and tender thinly sliced potatoes, topped with gooey melted cheese.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cups shredded cheese
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, add olive oil over medium heat and sauté the diced onion until golden and translucent.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, cooking until browned and seasoning with salt and pepper.
- In a large baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom.
- Spoon the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes.
- Layer the remaining potato slices on top.
- In a bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup and milk, then pour over the layered ingredients.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is browned and bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Make ahead of time and store in the fridge for up to 24 hours before baking. Can be adapted for air fryer or slow cooker.
