Description
A succulent marinated grilled steak bursting with flavor, perfect for summer cookouts and gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs steak (ribeye, sirloin, or your choice)
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)
Instructions
- Whisk the marinade: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, minced garlic, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and herbs if using. Whisk until it’s a harmonious blend.
- Prepare the steak: Place your chosen steak in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish.
- Marinate: Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it’s coated thoroughly. Seal the bag or cover the dish, then refrigerate for at least 120 minutes—overnight is best for an explosion of flavor.
- Heat up the grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat for optimal cooking.
- Grill the steak: Remove the steak from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Grill for about 4-6 minutes on each side, adjusting time based on your preferred doneness.
- Rest the steak: After grilling, let the steak rest for 5 minutes. This step locks in the juices, preventing them from escaping when you slice it.
- Serve and enjoy: Slice against the grain for tender pieces, and enjoy your creation!
Notes
Marinate the steak the night before for maximum flavor. If grilling isn’t possible, broil in the oven or use an air fryer.
