- 1 pre-made pie crust
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Combine the cherry pie filling, sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and lemon juice in a mixing bowl.
- Pour this cherry mixture into the pre-made pie crust, spreading it out evenly.
- Dot the filling with small pieces of butter.
- Cover with a second pie crust and seal the edges by crimping.
- Cut several slits on top to allow steam to escape.
- Brush the top with egg wash.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
- Let the pie cool for at least 15 minutes before cutting.

You can prepare the filling a day in advance. Adjust baking time if using an air fryer.
