Description

A hearty and delicious One-Pot Turkey and Rice recipe that brings together tender ground turkey, fluffy rice, and vibrant vegetables, all in one dish

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot. Sauté until they soften and become fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Introduce the ground turkey, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, and cook until it turns golden brown.
  4. Stir in the rice, mixed vegetables, dried thyme, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and stir to combine. Bring the mixture to a vigorous boil.
  6. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer gently for about 18-20 minutes.
  7. Fluff the rice lightly after removing the pot from heat, stirring the ingredients together for an inviting finish.

Notes

Customize with your choice of vegetables or spices for added flavor. This dish is also a great make-ahead option.
